So glad YLYJ! We spoke one other time about being a funeral officiant. Your job is also important, don't forget that. and as always I love reading about your shenanigans!
Spike, we met this weekend at Brad & Steff's wedding. My friends and I were smoking by the animals and you told us all about who was imprinting on who and other scandals. I love your substack! I hope to make it to one of your workshops at some point.
Looking forward to it! Have you read anything by joy Williams? Reading a short story collection by her now. I think you’d appreciate her sense of humor
I'm amazed and impressed that you can show up and lead groups in both extreme grief and extreme joy. That's a lot of responsibility but it also sounds very rewarding. Thank you for sharing!
There is a reason while I was in active ministry that my rules were simple: no one intoxicated at the rehearsal or the actual wedding ( both at the church or at a home wedding), I must see legal proof of divorces, and *I* took the signed certificate to the local city hall ( One of my parish offices has a DOZEN wedding certificates sitting in a drawer)

Her name rings a very vague bell. Thanks for the recommendation. I will add her to the top of the list!
I am questing my career choices 🤣. Your job sounds fun, unexpected, and meaningful.

It is a very odd job for an introvert but something about having a job to do helps me to show up and do it.
I love your job (for you) too. You have a heart as big as Texas.
Thank you. ❤️
This is such great fodder for a collection of essays, I don’t know how you could resist.
Thank you.
Your Monday morning posts are always a treat. Thank you, Spike!🤗
Kitty!! I keep meaning to email you and then I get pulled away by the latest disaster. I hope you are well and would love to see you soon.
