I mow my lawn in much the same fashion that I shave my legs—very rarely and then, in a sudden burst, hacking at the overgrowth with the surgical precision of a drunk toddler attempting to give a preschool classmate a Jennifer Aniston bob with a pair of safety scissors.
Well said, all of it and so relatable. Behind the image we present to the world at large, those of us suffering the level and types of pain you describe understand how suddenly apart, adrift, we feel at times. We are good at deepening the already bottomless abyss when hurt to the core - we’re miracle workers too! Sometimes that works in our favor though :-) Transcenders, eventually. Your goodness, honesty and authenticity is at the forefront of it all.
I’m sorry it’s relatable but thank you for understanding. I just starting reading a book called What My Bones Know by Stephanie Foo. It’s a memoir about C-PTSD. So far it’s an amazing read. A little tough at the beginning when she describes the abuse, but she reassures readers in a preface that she ends up happy.
I’ve come out of emotional blackouts to find myself cleaning the bathroom grout with a toothbrush. ❤️🩹
I so relate. ❤️
This summer my lawn has been an outer manifestation of my inner bullshit. Rage mowing is my current therapy mode.❤️
I just LOVE rage mowing!
